Current Projects

Over the years the coordination lab has included several projects that all examine the real-time experience of individuals trying to coordinate as a group. The various studies have examined cognitive, behavioral, aesthetic, and emotional aspects of what individuals do, think, and feel as they try to work as a collective in the lab and in the field. Some of these projects have included:

  • The analysis of experimental data that looks at how individuals distribute their attention across self and other as they coordinate to compose songs in a small group. (Working paper with Christopher Lyddy)
  • The analysis of ethnographic (interview and fieldnote data) to examine how a large performative group (the University Chorus) learns to coordinate over time. (Working paper with Njoke Thomas)
